It is good for dandruff, but I can't say about the African-American hair, my daughter and I both tried it. I don't know that being African-American has anything to do with it, but we both lost a lot hair with this product so for that reason. I wouldn't recommend it.

im not sure about the african american hair.. but i can say it works amazing for dandruff. ive had it for 19 years and just a few years ago found clear complete care and after about 5 uses my dandruff was gone :)

I have used head and shoulder for the past years to help me with my dandruff problem, however, my hair was getting very dry. A friend told me about Clear, which I didn't put too much attention to it since the bottle did not specify that it helps for dandruff, however, I purchased a bottle and I can now say I LOVE IT!!! since day one of using it, I haven't had any dandruff, and my hair is left shiny, soft, and smelling great!!! I really love this product and recommend it for those who suffer from dandruff, or just want to have shiny, soft hair!!!

i have suffered from EXTREME dry scalp and horrible dandruff since i was about 5 years old (i am now 23) in elm. school teachers thought i had lice because of the flakes and me scratching.. which in turn made kids not want to be around me. i tried every kind of shampoo on the market and dr. proscribed to help but it didnt work. even head and shoulders made it WORSE!! i was in the "GOTHIC" style and liked black/dark clothes so flakes showed up easy. i began to wear my hair back in a pony tail or bun to reduce my flakes from getting on my clothes. then about 2-3 years ago i seen a commercial on tv for "clear complete care" and thought id give it a try. and to my amazement after JUST ONE USE i could tell a difference. and after about 5 uses my dandruff was GONE!!! although about a year later i could tell they added a new fragrance to it which irritated my scalp some for the first while but then i guess i got used to it. my scalp remained clear till about 4 months ago when walmart stopped selling "complete care" in store.. still have all the other kinds just not the one i need. i tried several others in the "clear brand" but my dandruff and itchy scalp has come back like it used to be.. so i plan to order the "complete care" online :)

works AMAZING!!!!

I get seasonal dandruff and usually use Head and Shoulders which give me little to no relief. I would normally not pay 5 dollars for a bottle of shampoo/conditioner this size but I had a but one get one coupon. I am hooked, I will gladly pay the money when I need it again! Also it smells amazing!

I love this shampoo and conditioner, works great for my hair, but was disappointed to find out it had a new smell.  I prefer the original formula verses the new formula.  I bought every bottle I could find of the older formula, and I am running low now.  Please for the love of shampoo bring back the old formula.

I occasionally deal with Sebor. Dermititis and have to use a perscription selenium based shampoo to get it under control. The times in between I deal with an itchy dry scalp with oily hair. This situation gets worse during the warm/hot months. I received this shampoo free with a coupon, which is the only reason I got it. I wasn't looking for a shampoo as I have always been a faithful Pantene user. Not anymore. This Clear Scalp & Hair Dandruff shampoo is the best shampoo I have ever used! I no longer have an itchy scalp and there have been no indications of the SD rearing it's ugly head! My oily hair is no longer oily nor is it dried out. My hair and scalp are beautifully clean! And as an added bonus, it doesn't strip my my hair color as most dandruff shampoos do. Love this shampoo!!!!!

Very hard product to find

I started using this product about a year ago after years and years of searching for the right shampoo for my dandruff. I was so happy to find it, and then a couple months ago it wasnt at my store anymore. I searched high and low and couldnt find it. Then came along this new verison, I was so excited, I figured it must be the same, but it isnt. It does not seem to work quite as well, I dont know if it is the addition of the cucumber and mint or what. It is still better than any other product dont get me wrong, still buying it, but I miss the old formula.

I was beyond excited when I received Clear Scalp Therapy to try before I bought it. Clear products smell amazing and leave your hair feeling soft and free from build up. However, this particular type of product made my scalp actually worse after using it. I have dry scalp and hair in the winter, like many other people. But after using this product exclusively for 10 days, washing and conditioning every other day, my scalp became unbearably itchy and more flaky than it's ever been. I would recommend using this product made once a week and alternate with another type of shampoo and conditioner. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Too Much Therapy

I don't write reviews but I wanted to express how disappointed I was when I found out that I might need to change brands..again. I've been using the Complete Care what seems like forever. I travel for business all the time and needed to get another bottle because I was about to run out. I drove to 4 stores and ended up finding this version. I bought it because I'm loyal to the brand and needed something as a last minute alternative. With this new version, I hate the fragrance. I'm now looking for the original version and it looks like it has been replaced with this version. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back the original version or add it in addition to this one. I loved having a product that I could use all the time that actually worked and had a wonderful fragrance. It worked and didn't smell medicated, like other brands.
