Wonderful tasting water

The Sodastream is very easy to use, and gives you wonderful tasting water. You can add flavoring after the carbonation process. I tried a liquid koolaid mix, and it tasted very good. It will kind of perk up the taste of plain water also. To set it up for first use, you follow the pictures on the picture card, and in just minutes, you are ready to go and start using it. To install the cylinder of co2, you take off the protective wrapping, then screw the cylinder in place on the sodastream machine. Next, you pull the plastic guide on the front forward gently. Fill the water bottle up to the line with cold water, then slide the water bottle up into place and push back the guide. Next, you press on the button on the top firmly. Three presses will give you some carbonation, and five presses will give you a lot of bubbles and carbonation. I really like the flavor of even the plain carbonated, or sparkling water. The sodastream is easy and fun to use. It will save you a lot of money, in that it can replace buying soda pop. Also, it will lead to less waste in the garbage, by using this for a fresh, great tasting beverage instead of soda pop. This is a definite winner !!!!

Everyone should have one

This is the neatest machine. I never thought how convenient it is to be able to make my own sodas until I tried the Sodastream Fizzi Black Starter Kit. All you need is cold water and flavoring and you have soda without going out to buy it and carry home heavy cases of soda cans or big bottles of soda that go flat after you open them. I now have fresh soda anytime. Not to mention the storage space I am saving. I used to take up so much room in my refrigerator storing cans of soda. Now all I need is cold water and I have soda anytime. I enjoy refreshing seltzer. So I don't even need flavors. But my family likes to add flavor. Their favorites are the cola and the root beer flavors. But we have also experimented with mixing flavors like cola and lemon-lime. And of course the plain seltzer is great with some fresh fruit. It's so easy to use. You just insert the CO2 carbonator canister and then snap lock on the bottle of cold water and push the button for 10 seconds at a time until you get your desired amount of carbonation. I usually do 2 pumps. It's a matter of personal taste as to how much carbonation you like. After that you add the flavor or drink it plain. There is no electricity, no batteries required. And because you only use water there is no clean up of the machine. You will never run out of soda again with this Sodastream Fizzi Black Starter Kit. I purchased extra 1 litre bottles. You have to use the Sodastream bottles with this machine. They are reusable for up to three years. Just hand wash them. Every household should have their own soda maker. It's something that you don't realize you need until you try it and then wonder how you got along without it. I wish I had thought to try one sooner.

Soda Stream Set

This set includes the soda stream machine, bottle and the CO2 bottle. It is easy to assemble and use. Simply follow the directions included to install the CO2 tank and start the machine. This simply carbonates water and you can add your own flavors to create "soda". This is a great alternative to soda in that you do not get all thos added sugars and preservatives and no harmful metals. The water bottle is plastic, but it is BPA free. You conserve on the amount of waste you produce, since you are making it at home, not needing bottles or aluminum cans as you see in the stores. The carbonating bottles have an expiration date on the bottom, so make sure you take note of this and replace the bottle when it comes time (the plastic bottle). Also only hand wash this bottle. You have to use the bottles made for the machine, so while it cuts down on your plastic waste, it is only to a certain point. Now the way you use this depends on how much healthier it will be for you. Obviously, if you drink a lot of soda, using this machine will be beneficial, but if you're just putting in flavors that's are artificial anyway, you are not doing much in the way of improvement. Always add the flavor after carbonation, but I recommend using natural flavors as much as possible. There are flavorings made by soda stream itself, but I like the versatility to be able to control the flavorings added to my drinks. You can carbonate nearly any drink, even kool-aid, but as I said, it is more beneficial to use natural as possible. For me personally, as someone who did not drink soda much to begin with, this did not add much benefit, but I do drink alot of sparkling water from cans, so it helped in this way. I enjoy adding a but of lemon to the water. I would say to anyone considering it, at least try it. I found some benefit from this, although it may not be what it is necessarily hyped up about. It is hyped to replace soda, but you can also just make sparkling water to increase water consumption in your day to day, if you're like me and get bored of flat water.
