Yes, there is plenty of room to store a CPU, it has a cardboard backing that you can put holes in for the CPU wiring.

Not unless it is very small. It is only 20 inches high, 17 inches deep, and 11 inches across if you leave the shelf out. Also, you have to nail a support piece on the back which would make it difficult to route cables through and it wouldn't provide good ventilation either.

The flip-down panel is on solid hinges that stay level with the keyboard and does not hang down. It is comfortable for me anyway. You can pull the keyboard out over the panel flap, but then it rests on the hinges and will wobble a bit as you type.

The flap causes the keyboard to be slightly further from me than I normally have it but doesn't cause a significant discomfort. The flap lies flat with the keyboard panel. The flap adds about 2-2.5 inches from the end of the keyboard panel.

No the flip-down keyboard panel does not cause interferance. Neither does it hang down it stays straight out and the seating is very comfortable. I am sure you would be surprised how comfortable you really would be and how much work you could get accomplished.
