It depends, my husband is good at building things, but I think anyone can put it together if you can read the directions, it did take about 2 hours to assemble but highly worth it for the price

No, the only problem you may find is some of the holes not lining up

It was very easy to put together. My daughter did it by herself, she was very pleased with the instructions.

It can be used as either a corner or flat unit. It comes with a fold down corner piece. There are no different settings for the fan, but there are two heat settings.

No it isn't just for a corner, there are two pieces on the back they are hinged so if you want it in the corner you pull the 2 back pieces up or if you want it flat just fold them down, there is 1 setting for the fan but it has 2 settings for wattage

shipping was fast. The "free ship to store" doesnt apply to anchorage, alaska. had to pay $70 for standard shipping. But with a very reasonable $199 base cost, this is a fair price delivered to my door. the cardboard shipping box did arrive with some dings, but the contents were well sandwiched in styrofoam and cardboard. All components intact and unscratched = Good job packers!
Assembly instructions were clear. Follow the recommendation - don't tighten the screws until you install the final capping piece. loosen the screws and wiggle the boards to square the pieces, so the 2 dowels line up with their drilled holes. voila
The fireplace heater is audible, but not bad. the "flames" are pleasant. The unit is a nice looking wood, not plasticky or cheap. i am very pleased with this fireplace. it really makes my guest room an inviting room

This is a great way to provide the ambiance of a fireplace and the needed heat to a room. Highly recommend....it just puts you in a good mood to see the flickering flames and feel the warmth.

Great buy!

We were looking for an electric fireplace but all were too expensive. My husband did not want to purchase this one for fear it would look cheap because of the price. However once we received it he was THRILLED!!! Looks like a $600-$800 piece. Only thing I have to warn is if you are a strong handy man, such as my husband be gentle when assembling. He screwed in a screw a bit too tight when assembling and it made a small whelp in the front of the fireplace, not really noticeable other to me.

Better than I expected love it

I purchased this corner heater for a large game room/guest room which needed more than a small area heater. My son-in-law assembled the unit which took about 45 minutes. We were both pleasantly surprised to see the look and finish of the wood to be better than expected for the price the unit cost. And as for the heater, this unit gererates enough warmth for the room with just the 750w switch on. When you switch on both the 750w and the 1500w switches, the rood heats up quickly.
My only complaint is minor: the fan is a noisy, but completely acceptable.
All in all, this is the best piece I have purchased for this large room in a long time and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another one for other rooms.

Looks and operates much better than expected...

I bought for 85 yr. old parents and they love it. It took me and wife about 45 min to an hr. to put together and were pretty good at this stuff. Wish they came put together, I'd pay another 25 bucks or so to avoid assy. Anyway puts out a nice amount of supplemental heat for a large room. Flame looks ok. All in all a nice heater.

A day after receiving this & assembling it, the fan started making a high pitched noise. I contacted the company & was given instructions on how to open the back of it & lubricate it. Will try it this weekend & hope it works. Other than that, it looks good & heats the room great with little to no noise (except for the squealing)! Overall, I am very happy with what I received for the money I paid.

Good for the price

The fire place looks great and was easy to put together. My son did it with very little help from me in about an hour and 15 mins. The fire looks real. I do wish it put out more heat and have a feeling its not all that energy efficient but bring great atmisphere to the room.

this was fairly easy to assemble, I did it myself in about an hour. it works well and for the purpose we bought it, it works wonderful. (Christmas stockings, winter ambiance, and a nice tv console) however, upon closer inspection after assembly I did notice the veneer is peeling off the very front in one of the creases near the top edge. I am hoping upon notification to the manufacturer this part can be replaced with no problem. other than that, I am please with my purchase.

very pretty

You must be creative putting this item together. The last ten screws would not line up and I had to keep moving the mantel in different directions and at different angles and still barely got them to line up with the pre drilled holes. The last screw took twenty minutes to get it installed. And yes, I left all of the other screws loose so I could get the wood to move as needed. Some details are missing in the instructions which leaves it to you to figure it out on your own. Same picture diagram for more that one step (which have nothing to do with the step). Good luck and be prepared to get frustrated.

Horrible instructions.

I read the reviews and all seemed good. Shipped quickly. If you are not good at assembling things you will need another person who does know how to. It took 4 hours for me to assemble. It is very pretty to look at and gives the room a nice cozy look but for the purpose of heat it does not do the job. I bougth this because the size seemed rigth for the space I have in my living room ( small living rooom ) but since there are no doors to shut off the room does not heat well from this. I let it run all day to see if that would help and made no diffrence other than it shut off the power to my outlets and had to reboot from the outside breaker. I plugged it into a seprate surge protector outlet and that outlet blew out. I have debated on wether to return or keep. I have now chossen to use it to set my TV on and to enjoy the look of the fireplace and not use for heating purposes. May heat better in a closed room works good as a TV stand Thinking of investing in a diffrent one for my living room and move this one to my bedroom.
