So far so good! I smoked a pork shoulder this weekend and it came out great. I used wood pellets instead of chips because I heard they work well in electric smoker. Only used two cups of pellets (oak) and one charcoal briquette (charcoal added good smoke flavor but this may not be recommended in the manual) during the 6 hour cooking time and it had great smoke flavor any more may have been too much. Last hour wrap the pork in foil and it will come out really moist.\nCan't wait to try brisket.\nEasy to put together...just a couple of screws. Be sure to season the smoker before your first use. Wrap drip tray and water tray in foil for easy clean up but not the meat racks because you need them open for airflow\/smokeflow and heat transfer. Easy to set temperature and timer. Keep door closed...don't keep opening the door if you can avoid it to keep temperature.

Just did my first rack of ribs in the new smoker. It is very easy to use, the programmable time\/temp setting are easy and work perfectly, and the remote works great (although certainly not a necessity).\n\nMy ribs came out pretty good but I will experiment some more as I used too much rub and cooked them a little too long- neither was a fault of the smoker itself.\n\nI look forward to cooking more on this smoker and would recommend it to others.

In switching from gas to electric, I felt this was the best bang for the buck. Don't want digital, too much to break. Don't want a glass door (Really? It's a smoker). It's a fine smoker for the money, but Walmart advertises it w\/ four racks (it only has three), and an external wood feed door...No, it's a drip pan.\nBut value for the dollar it seems to work just fine.\nAfter debating on returning it, I kept it as I didn't see anything else out there that would suit me as well.

This smoker is built well and seems to be solid. It holds temperature very well. I did add stove gasket to door but that is a common need for this kind of smoker. Being able to smoke whole racks of ribs is great. Very satisfied.

Set it up in minutes, works great and temp is very accurate. I put a separate oven thermometer inside and it read exactly. But Do not waste your money on the window version. You can not see anything after about 2 hours of smoking. the window blacks out. I should have saved the $20. Otherwise it seems to work ok. I made 5 lbs of smoked ribs on the top and second rack at 220 deg and they were done in less than 3 hours according to my meat thermometer. Slight leak around the base from the steam inside that runs down the walls and door. The warranty stinks at only 90 days and if it breaks down past that point the entire thing is riveted together so nothing is easily serviceable without a drill!

This product is made for a company I trust the quality of their products. However, I don't understand why Walmart wants to take advantage of another company's reputation.
