Pays for itself by eliminating our need for a safety deposit box. for our important papers.\n\nThe lock is pretty chintzy, but it isn't advertised as a safe and a better lock would add to the cost. In any case a safe of this size could always be broken out and carried off to be opened at leisure, and nothing we needed it for is of any intrinsic value to a thief.

Well made, meets expectations, fits perfectly and as advertised. One small plastic broken part was replaced by manufacturer very quickly and at no cost.
This box cost less then one document I had to replace because I thought I lost it. Everyone has important papers that need to be preserved, kept where you can find them, and protected from a possible fire. This box is cheap insurance.
This safe was extremely difficult to open when unlocked. There is a plastic piece that you need to squeeze to open the safe that was completely unreliable. I spent about 10 minutes each time I unlocked and tried to open it. I had to buy another safe as this was so useless. The only good thing I can say about it is that your valuables would be very safe in this; no one, including you with a key would ever be able to get at them.
I returned the Safe to Wal-Mart. When it arrived my husband held it by the handle with\nhis fingers and pushed on the lid.. he was able to pop the locked lid open with just his\nthumbs in a matter of seconds each time.\n\nNeedless to say, it wouldn't secure much. We could NEVER trust our valuable to be secure\nin it.

If I could go back in time, I would spend 2x the money for a safe 10x better. Super thin metal. Get what you pay for. Its good to put things in that you don't care much about, although that doesn't make sense.

I am very pleased with the Sentry Safe Fire-Safe Box. Small, economical, and appears to be very safe. Small enough for important papers and a few jewelry items. I have a larger fire safe, but got this one for important papers, passports, etc., and am very pleased that I did. Makes it a lot easier to find them when I need them. A little heavy for travel, but am thinking of getting one to leave in my trunk when I do travel. Quality item - well worth the investment. Have seen several for double the money. :)
It will work as long as you use the cable but I wouldn't count on it. Purchased for use in the Car when needed to store Handgun for a short period for various reasons where not permitted to carry.\nYou get what you pay for.
this is a very good safe the only drawback is that i wish it was alittle heavier but for the money it works great and the great thing about it is that you can change the pin numbers and the card if you need too!!! well worth the money!!!
The product is poorly made. Extremely disappointed I purchased three of them and of those three, two of them didn't work properly. They are just made very cheaply. I guess you get what you pay for.
