low-quality
I received this as a gift. The thread take-up kept dropping the thread, and then it would tangle in the bobbin area. Changing tension did not solve the problem. I had to keep stopping to re-thread. I sent an e-mail to Singer customer service. Two weeks went by without a response, so I sent another e-mail. I tried calling. I was on hold for an hour and then got disconnected. I gave up, returned the machine to the store, and bought a different brand. The next day I finally received an e-mail response. It was completely unhelpful and told me I hadn't threaded it correctly. I know how to thread a sewing machine. Singer is not the quality brand it used to be.
The drop in bobbin is great! Push button selection is great also. Threading the machine is pretty simple. Good useful attachments included and the manual is ok. The foot pedal operates easily.\nThe machine that I got did not function properly and that was a Singer machine problem, not a Wal-Mart problem. Returning this sewing machine to the store where I picked it up was swift and easy. I recommend this machine to beginners as well as those who are experienced.
I just used it and I love it! I learned how to make a button hole and how to switch the presser foot. I also like the ease of making a bobbin. This is a great machine for the novice and advanced person.
This extremely useful carrying case from Singer Sewing Company accommodates most brands of sewing and overlock machines
What our shoppers say:
Case appears to be sturdy enough.
I have not used the case yet, but the overall appearance is good. I read some reviews about the latches not working properly but not everyone had that problem. I decided to buy it anyway. It is a gift for my granddaughter who is not home from college yet. I am thinking about ordering one for myself. The price is very reasonable.
I love it since it sews almost by itself. I would recommend it to anyone that wants a great sewing machine, need to have knowledge about a sewing machine.
Includes: 40 spools of thread, pearl-head pins and more

great product
I was so surprised at how much I really got for such a reasonible price. It has everything but the patterns and the material to start a project. This is so highly recommended by my self. As usual Walmart gives more bang for your buck, which is hard to come by now a days.
glasses. Just the oldness of me that I have a hard time threading needles, but I love this set. It is perfect to have chairside and ready to mend in an instant. Would recommend and buy again.
I bought my Singer 7470 December of 2009. I have no problems with this machine. It runs smoothly, it is quiet. Along with the variety of stitches, you have a choice of reverse image, twin needle. It allows you to change the stitch width and the stitch length of each stitches. It comes with the Alphabets, numbers 0 through 9, commas, quotation marks, etc. You have a choice needle and down which is great especially when you are quilting. There is a dial that lightens or darkens the display screen. It has a button called the infinity stitch you can use on the specialty stitches. It gives you a choice of stitching just one of the specialty stitch such as the puppy dog or allows you to do a whole role of puppy dogs. It's ease of use, multiple choice of stitches, variety of button holes to choose from makes this a Great Machine for a Good Price. I have my machine for little over 3 years now and No Problems. My Singer 7470 will last me for the next 25 years of Great Enjoyable Sewing.
this fuzz remover does the job needed. my issues with it from the moment i opened the box the lint chamber fell off and wouldnt stay on. i had to tape it closed. i bought this item to tend to my bed spread. if you wish to use this product on something that large, take several days into account. i had to give it frequent \"breaks\" (suggest every 20 minutes turn it off for about 10 minutes)otherwise it would slow down and not be as effective.
I puchased this tonight, at a discount thank goodness, thinking it would make things simple when it came to attaching my work shirt buttons.\nI was so wrong.\nI should have known that things wouldn't go well when I noticed how weak the attachers were. It's cheap plastic, and though it may do well for a shirt button, if there is any amount of pressure they will malform or break.\nI took me several minutes just figuring out how to load the bars, as they call them, into the device. That's how poor the instructions really are.\nI was able to pass the bar through a light cotton fabric, only if the button was not on the needle as instructed. I managed to get it through the button and the fabric just once, but that was because I literally pulled the bar through will my fingernails.\nI wasted almost a full cartridge of bars and attachers as the plunger would simply warp the plastic and they became unusable.\nI spent nearly 30 minutes and many different variations trying to attach ONE button. I did not succeed.\nI would highly suggest some simple thread and a needle. It's cheaper and quicker and you know that the thread will hold the button on.
