Excellent Portable Hoop!
Before I purchased this product I read all the reviews and took heed to what most had to say about the instructions and setup. Putting this product together wasn't very difficult but you should take your time and read through the instruction booklet before actually getting started, making sure that you have all parts and tools needed. My 6 year old son helped me put this system together. The hoop is of great quality, easy to move and easy to adjust the height of the rim. Spalding did a great job with the design of this product and it looks fantastic in the driveway! I also store mine in the garage but your garage ceiling should measure at least 120\" if you are thinking of storing in your garage. My son and daughter love this hoop and so do I.
1. Product received late\n2. Product received damaged - Looks like a forklift ran into the base and punctured it. Had to repair.\n3. Instructions are horrible. Vague and missing steps.\n4. Even with 200lbs of sand in the base, the unit is completely unstable.
Our backboard kept falling down and it broke pretty bad. This replacement was simple to put up and we've been using it nonstop! If I had known I could get this replaced for about $63.00 (and free shipping) I would have replaced it a year ago! I highly recommend this product!!
I got this ball and it was rock hard with NO grip. Never took it out of the box. Returned it the next day. For 6-7.00 more you can get something worth bothering with.

What our shoppers say:
Better be handy...
The reason I gave this hoop such a low rating, it for no other reason than assembly. I read reviews of others who said it for sure takes 2 adults, and takes a few hours to set up. Those reviews had to have been made by people who are handy. I am not totally inept, I just need instructions that are reliable. THESE ARE NOT! They don't have all the parts pictured to be identified. They are VERY hard to follow, and if you get it put together in under 2 hours, call the record books! Bought this for my sons 10th birthday, and it took 2 adults FOUR hours to assemble this thing. You better have a big big big dose of patience for this hoop assembly.\nAs for the hoop itself, it's a beast. Good solid construction, does need a strong arm to raise and lower the backboard, but that feature is just fantastic for the kids. The little plastic \"protection\" thingy in the front works pretty good for a ball return, but the best part is the backboard itself. I was worried reading reviews about the acrylic board. But the ball is VERY quiet off the board compared to our last hoop. I would recommend this hoop, but would also recommend a handy person, or just pay for the blasted assembly fee!!!!

What our shoppers say:
Great for our 10 year old son.
After reading other reviews we did have Walmart assemble the hoop. It was definitely worth it! It is hard to adjust the height(takes 2 people), our 10 year old cant do it. Overall it is a great product for the price.
We had this hoop professionally installed.\nIt is nice. Way better than a cheap hoop.\nBUT the hoop and board are definitely softer than ideal.\nIf you are real serious hoopster than pay the big buck for a $1000+ hoop.
Good quality, easily movable, challenging assembly
I ordered this for my son and me and it came in three big boxes delivered to my doorstep. It was a challenge to put it together in a timely fashion but I had the help of my 7 year old son and his two buddies who are 10 years old. Most of it can be assembled with one person (adult), but the two big posts that connect were really difficult. I had to get another guy (adult) to help me slam the thing together (per directions) but once that was completed the rest went on with out a hitch, thanks to my little helpers. All in all the total time to assemble was about 7 hours. But I must disclose that I did mess up the post connection and put the top part on backwards which could not be taken off once it was together because it simply would not come apart. SO, I had to take the time to measure and drill new holes for the arms that hold the back board. this set me back a couple hours. It is a high quality goal, and you pay for it but you get what ya pay for and i am generally very pleased as this will clearly last for years to come and is easily adjustable.
Honestly, there isn't a lot to review on a basketball. I mean, the covering has been sturdy through outdoor play and that's about all I can say. I guess I could say it bounces and is good and round, but seriously, it is a very good ball for the money.
I brought this for my nephews, they were given a goal, but the net was worn. After looking around for just a net(costing anywhere from $19.95 to $24.95) I was so grateful to find this kit for less than $10. It is a pretty sturdy net for the price and the pump and needle were a bonus. Also came with a whistle. What more can you ask for! Needless to say the boys (and my 11 year old niece) are having a ball playing ball..lol! Would definitely recommend to others and would buy again.
I bought several of these Spalding NBA Basketballs to donate to schools overseas. They are the best ball for the money. I paid about $9.83 each. They have a good grip to them and play well. They also last a long time. The only problem I had was when I went to pick them up at the Crenshaw store in Los Angeles. They have a multi-level store with most of the escalators broken. To make things worse, there was only one elevator working and it took forever to get on it, because all three floors were requesting it and it was overcrowded, because it was the only one. I thought it was broken too, because it didn't reach the 1st floor in a 6 minute wait. I decided to take the stairs and fortunately Wal-Mart had a representative at the top of the stairs who told me the elevators were indeed working. That's the only way I knew. It would have been nice if they were actually at the elevators. In summary, great price, great product, poorly run store.

Great Basketball - Needs to be Broken In
This is the real deal in basketballs. Walmart has the best price around hence the 'good' value rating. The reason I didn't give it an 'excellent' on value is that you can get great basketballs for $30-$40 less by purchasing the Wilson Evolution, Spalding TF-1000, or the Nike Elite Competition.\n\nThis ball takes some break-in time so you may feel that it isn't very good out of the box. However, as you play with it it gets better. I like the way it comes off the rim for a rebound and its dribble is nice. Again, it needs some break in time. As I play with the ball it meets my expectations more and more.\n\nIf you are wondering what the real NBA ball is all about, Walmart is a great deal.
It arrived sooner than originally expected. All the pieces and parts were there. The instructions were easy to understand. only a couple of small issues. The weld on the back board was not well done, looked as if my 6 year old son did it. It was to big and very sloppy. When it was time to install the brackets they didn't fit straight due to the large welds. I did manage to get the bolt on and force the nut to tighten. The other issue was with the pre-drilled holes for the back board covers. They were to small for the bolts provided. I'll probably buy smaller screws for it. Plays great and it looks good.
