The yarn moves smoothly over the hook but I still have control of the yar's movement as the hook end-curve is just right so the yarn doesn't slip off. Any hook less then 6- inches long is too short for me to use the "knife" hold is uncomfortable, but works great for the "pencil" hold. The hook isn't heavy as with silicone-like material, and my hand doesn't sweat or chaff.

It does not come with an F hook but does come with one they are calling size 7, which is in between a G and an H. They are much easier to grip, and my senior citizen hands are not ending up cramping after a long session of crocheting. I will need to find an F hook, though. I mostly use F, G, and H
