I am using this for a non-standard reason. I needed a secondary desk for just periodic times a month, but have no room in my apartment. I am using this on a coffee table and raising it when I need a second desk. It is working great for that, and has met my needs. It is light and easy enough to either move when not in use, or lower when not using (but will need to the next day). There was no real assembly needed -except for adding on the laptop stand if desired. Very easy to raise and lower. Fits my monitor stand with no overhang. Overall, I was nervous when I saw how big the box was, but the actual size was exactly what I needed.
