Great Low Profile 2.5 Ton Floor Jack

Living in a rural area on a micro-ranch (6 acres), we have need for a variety of jacks. In addition to the bottle and/or scissor jacks in each of our vehicles, we use farm jacks, ATV jacks, floor jacks, etc. (over a dozen counting them all - see photo for a few). Of our now 4 floor jacks (counting the new one being reviewed), I find the Black Jack 2.5 Ton Low Profile Floor Jack easiest to use and best for everyday jacking needs, especially jacking up any of our vehicles (compact, Jeep, SUV, Ford F250 full crew cab and long bed). This jack has larger wheels than my other floor jacks, so slides into place under vehicle hard points easier. The low profile allows jack to get into tight spaces made tighter by flat tires. Jack seems stable when used. Control valve to enable and disengage jack piston is well thought out and easily manipulated by the jack handle. Based on its ease of use, stability, and apparent durability I would recommend this jack to anyone looking for a low profile 2.5 ton floor jack. This will now be my go-to floor jack.

very useful jack

After a quick purge of air from the jack I put it to work. It has more then enough power to lift my car and hold it in place while I was under it inspecting and there was plenty lift for me to get under the car with lots of room to move around. It may be low profile but it also lifted the car off the ground enough to change a tire and stay in place. With added wheel chocks I felt safe to get the job done. 2-1/2 ton is plenty for anything I would need to lift. The handle has short strokes so it took a bit more time to jack up then some other jacks but holding a load using hydraulics I feel good with the slower speed of lift. The release works great and the jack comes down smoothly. I will use it for years to come.

Very handy and compact floor jack

Full disclosure: I was given the jack in exchange for an honest and unbiased review, good or bad. I'm impressed with this jack. It's a handy compact size, so it'll stow away in virtually any corner or small space in the garage. Operation is typical floor jack method. There's a valve control that the open end of the jack handle slides over, then you simply twist it right or left for raising or lowering. The handle slips into the hydraulic cylinder for jacking up the vehicle or other object. It quite easily lifted a corner of my car as though I were going to remove a tire. In the photos you'll see there is about a two inch gap between bottom of tire and garage floor. Perfect for easy removal and replacement. As there was quite a gap between the lift point on the car and the contact point on the jack, I could have easily slipped a short piece of 4 x 4 in-between in order to get more height. I really like the low profile of the jack as many larger jacks are too high to slide under a low vehicle, and as stated previously, you can always slip a piece of 4 x 4 or similar lumber between the jack and lift point on the vehicle. The jack is rated at 5,000 pounds, and while I wasn't able to test at the limit, the operation of lifting my car was so east I tend to think the rated limit is accurate. I would definitely recommend this jack as an inexpensive and convenient tool to have in the garage.
