This makes for a quick, versatile side dish that can be used as a non-traditional ingredient in classic pasta recipes. This very versatile product made from the highest quality wheat, is well known in the Middle East and for the very first time, is now being produced in the USA with Non-GMO wheat. Pearl Couscous with Turmeric is low in fat, cholesterol free, a good source of fiber and iron, and easy to prepare; simply add to boiling water and cook for about 10 minutes. Instructions
Cooking Turmeric Pearl Couscous: 1-1/2 cups water; 1/2 tsp salt (optional); 1 tsp butter or olive oil (optional); 1 cup pearl couscous. Bring water to a boil. Add salt and butter or olive oil, if desired. Stir in pearl couscous. Cover with lid; reduce heat to low and simmer 8-10 minutes. stirring occasionally. Yields approximately 2 cups.
