Best in class performance!

This a very nice cross-cut shredder that is faster and seems more sturdy than prior Fellowes models such as the Fellowes 79Ci. It also draws less power when in standby mode, at only 1 watt. This one is definitely a bit larger in size and with it's 6.5 gallon bin, you will not have to empty this one quite as often and the added height makes it more convenient to shred a document since you are not having to bend down as low to do so. This one is also faster. This shredder is also very quiet. If you take your personal identity security seriously (and you should), you should incorporate a good shredder into your home or office environment and use it for any mail or documents with your name and address on them, or any other personal information on them. I've been impressed with Fellowes shredders and would not consider another brand at this point.

Thought of Everything!

In today's world, every home should logically have a shredder to use. Cancelled checks, credit card bills, old tax records, and any document with personal information should be rendered unreadable before discarding, and this heavy-duty shredder should fill the bill for us for many years to come. The Fellowes Powershred 76Ct is a great shredder. It seems like they have thought of everything with this model. From the pullout receptacle to the casters on the bottom, this is just exactly what we needed for our home office. It rolls under worktable or desk when not in use, and is very quiet and efficient. I am a careful shredder, so I have not yet needed to use the Jam Buster feature, but it seems straightforward, but the tried and true reverse/forward way of clearing jams is mentioned in the instructions as an alternative. There is a safety flap that can be put to use when shredding CD's or credit cards. I have never felt a need to shred a CD, but given the amount of data they can hold, it might indeed be necessary at some point. It will take up to 16 sheets of paper at once, and it shreds credit cards like a champ. I did not try to exceed the recommended daily usage rates, but shredded quite a bit in an afternoon and the machine never did overheat nor indicate a jam. The complete and comprehensive instruction manual should clear up any questions you have about this machine, and a small oil container is included to help with routine maintenance. There are several bags included that fit nicely into the receptacle to catch your shreddings and make discard simple. As I said, I think Fellowes thought of everything with this shredder!
