My cat was loosing weight too and the only thing wrong was a slightly overactive thyroid, but nothing too major.  I was lucky, ended up trying this, and my girl loved it. Her weight has stabilized, even gained a bit, shes more muscular, playful, and active. I dont know how much iodine is in this.. but Ive seen the results relatime somewhat to your situation. It would definitely help with the weight loss and the potential liver/kidney failure associated with severe weight loss.

What is the Iodine content of this food? My cat is suffering from Hyperthyroidism and needs that controlled.

Good food and my cats love it. Since I live a minimum 2 hours from any major city, Walmart is the only store in my area. I used to be able to rely on Walmart as a go-to to purchase my cats' food— mind you, this product was the ONLY refrigerated cat food at Walmart, never mind anywhere near me. Now they have decided to rudely cater entirely to dogs and dog-only owners, while crossing their fingers in hopes that no one would notice (particularly people owning one, or multiple cats). Yes, Freshpet is still thriving and booming as a company….. AND this item / food formulated specifically for cats, is still in production. 
Do better, Walmart. Shame on you. When the time comes that my Walmart  membership that I've paid for reaches its expiration, expect me not to come back.

Since I started feeding my cat this food : 

Her fur has gotten very luxurious; she is back to behaving like she's a kitten - high energy & playful {She is 6 years old}; not to mention that she gets real meat and vegetables. 

When I first started using this product and we weren't able to finish the bag before it went bad I contacted the company about freezing the product. Now I open a new bag and put a portion in a sandwich zip lock bag and place the rest in the freezer and I take it out as needed which works really well. I also feed her multiple times a day as the food can get hard and dry if left out as real meat would if you left it out on the counter.

my picky eater loves it, but it need a topper for them to eat .. unfortunately there's no byproduct in it. most cat nutrients are from byproduct. i myself have taste it, its 👌

my little stinky loves this stuff. i like to have his food on rotation so he gets this every other day and i give him the sheba chicken and turkey (?) mix in the afternoons and the chicken purina beyond dry food in the morning. he is a very healthy cat. he's about to be 2 years old and he is 10 pounds. he‘a very playful and happy and he eats his food within minutes.

This is a excellent, nutritious cat food that is kept fresh in the refrigerator.  Our Siamese cat is fairly picky, but he definitely likes this food.

Freshpet Tender-Chicken Recipe....

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Even though this is cat food, I buy it for my small 7lbs Yorkshire.  She loves it.  This dog is the fussiest animal you've ever had. I have to cook for her, minus salt, spices, etc. She loves her veggies raw not cooked but her meat cooked.  After 9 yrs of this, I decided to try Freshpet.  WELLLLLL, believe or not she loves it.  She has it for her first meal of the day (a couple of ounces) and her regular meals at night.  IF I could I would give it to her all the time but "fussy doggie" won't have it.  I buy the chicken recipe and the beef/chicken recipe.  Thank you Fresh Pet for this.  I had tried all kinds of "raw" foods and nothing ever worked except your recipe.  Again thank you.

I can not begin to tell you how this has impacted our cat's life.  Our Tinker was a rescue that had acid poured on her at the age of 1 week.  Rehabing included debriding the skin on her back.  She has healed from that and has been with us for 11 years.  But with no fur on her back she needs exacting foods with no grain in it.  This fits the bill for us  

She would not be with us if it were not for freshpet.  She is not food driven and eats because she loves it

Best cat food for my cat. Loves it. BUT - It is way expensive. Walmart raised the price by $1 per pound [to $6.47] the week that I started buying it. That is the lowest price in town, but wow!

Great - but costly.

I bought this instore. They have their own refridgerater for these types of fresh foods. I usually see people walking past it, however, and going for the more low-end foods at Walmart. It saddens me. If you're one of those people and are reading this, my cat loves this food! She was wary of the smell at first (because of the strong seasonging scent it has#, but after she gained enough confidence to try it a few hours later, she can't stop begging for it! She asks for about over 3 meals a day now! Whenever I walk over to the fridge she'd follow me and try to trip me in front of it, because she knows her Freshpet selects is there.

I don't see why cats need the added veggies, however. Cats are carnivores. I also believe cat's don't need salt to season their food, so I substitute some of her meals with other food #be it human-grade chicken or canned food).

PS Ihaven't yet tried the tiny boxed cat foods. Only the bagged.

Cat loves it, but too much sodium...

Be sure you check the expiration date, I ordered 2 bags of Fresh Pet cat food for Jan 2nd, I used 1 and froze one. I finished the first one on Friday night and took the 2nd one out the day before to defrost. I just happened to look at the back of the bag and noticed the sell by date is 10/23/22 - OVER 2 MONTHS PAST THE SELL BY DATE and this is what Walmart  delivered to my home! How is it that your store 
failed to pull expired food from the Pet Dept  refrigerator and your shopping service failed to
notice that the product was expired or they just didn't care! Today I discovered that the food I've been feeding my 3.5 month old kitten for the last few days expired 2.5 months ago. SEE photos !
