Great heaters, eco mode saves ya money!

We've had 3 of these for 3-4 years and given a couple as gifts. They are great for taking the chill out and keeping the furnace from kicking on. I set the thermostat at 67…we get a lot of solar heat from our southwest facing windows and slider, which works to our advantage in the winter on sunny days. The tower heaters set on the eco mode with a temp of 62 will shut off automatically once that temperature is reached. Thus, preventing the furnace from kicking on and heating the entire house, while preventing it from getting cold soaked. I did purchase four, 3 pronged 10-12 gauge, 3 and 6 foot surge protector extension cords. Considering the tower heaters can each draw up to 1500 watts (which is equivalent of 15-100 watt light bulbs each), you risk over heating the 2 prong cords by plugging them into a standard outlet, and a fire using a standard thin, low wattage, non grounded extension cord with 2 prongs and not 3… We check the outlets frequently and the extension cords connections for temperature changes and over heating and thus far it's not been an issue. We love the remotes, the eco modes, timer and tip over auto shut off….and have saved a lot on our utility bills too.
