Navajo Red

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband was so against me doing this deck because it's 20 years old and he didn't think it would cover it well enough. I'm a little slow so it took me a while to finish it but I was so pleased with the out come that I'm now going to do the front deck too. It turned out beautiful! I've included a before and after picture.

Held up for 5 years and going to use it again

Our deck wasn't in the greatest shape when we moved into our house. The year after we moved we decided to fix it up. We scraped and power washed the old paint off, let it dry, and then used this to repaint. It has been over 5 years and we are just going to redo it again. It worked great to keep the old boards in good shape and didn't start to peel for several years. I had to work pretty hard to get it off in a lot of spots but we are going to use it again. I've read some bad reviews and am wondering if people didn't let their deck fully dry before using or if it should possibly only be used on aged wood. Anyway, if you have a deck that has some splinters or cracks in the wood, this stuff works great! Also, we don't even have to repaint the railings yet because they have held up. We live in Iowa so we get snow and cold temps as well as lots of rain!

Great on concrete

Okay, I can't comment on how this does with wood, but it really does make my concrete deck look wonderful. A few tips: 1.) This doesn't play well with worn out/chipping/peeling paint. Scrape that off before hand. 2.) This stuff is thick, not typical paint thick, but more like tar thick, be prepared to have a normal paint stick break. 3.) The base coat doesn't go very far, 75 sq. ft. might have even been a stretch for me. The top layer will go much further. Speaking of that, you will need two coats. Like anything, do it right and you will be happy, give it 50% and you probably won't be. Happy painting.
