I had to replace my $400+ radio ,the AM reception was terrible to say the least.(I won't be mean to name the brand) i can't say enough about the Sangean.The reception is great,the sound is very good ,the FM - you have to play a little to get the sound you want(bass - treble) but pretty good.the remote is very useful because we listen in bed mostly at nite.The walnut cover is a hair lighter than we like
