this is a HOUSING for filters, not an actual filter it is big and strong, definitely heavy-duty the In/Out holes on either side are 3/4", so you'll have to buy some connections/adapters/bushings/compression fittings (since most water lines are 1/2") i got this, then got the filter from- http://www.filterpros.com/p-893-pentek-cbr2-10-155268-43-under-sink-5-micron-with-lead-reduction.aspx rock on

Culligan makes a nice filter

I bought this to replace a whole house filter that broke. I was really impressed with how much bigger and more heavy duty this filter is than the one it replaced. It still uses the same standard filters I already had on hand. Only drawback was the lack of a filter wrench, there was no wrench included.

super filter system needs wrench and hangers

this water filter system is a super filtering system and the only draw back is that this company does not give you and filter wrench to be able to change the filter you have to go and buy a strap filter wrench and the other thing is that it is great if you are using copper pipe but if you are not and you are using pex pipe you need to make your own mounting brackets or hanging support system it is to heavy for just on the pipe in line with a some time of hanger
