Inexpensive, highly pigmented %26 low on fillers

I have found Meilang's offerings to be more than useful in the presence of my primary go-to brands: Daniel Smith, Holbein, and Sennelier. Meilang's inexplicably inexpensive paints are highly pigmented, low on fillers, and include a good array of lightfast pigments. Many of their colors use high quality single pigments as well. I use them in tandem with the more recognizable brands noted above because they're predictable and mix well, hydrate easily, and handle well using both wet and dry techniques. Though a Meilang set will never be an acceptable substitute for a well researched professional selection costing several hundred dollars, I've not traveled without them since my first purchase a few years back. Finally, since these paints have the look, feel, and durability of brands costing costing far more, I can think of no better option for anyone are staring out with watercolors.

Unbelievable quality for the cost

I am BLOWN AWAY by this palette. I expected box-store quality, but I ordered it anyway because 1. I'm an amateur, and 2. it was cheap. I've bought mid-tier paints before, and TBH they didn't make enough difference to make it worth the money. Anyway, I ordered this, and it sat on the shelf for a bit while I finished some other projects I had going. Last night I opened it up for the first time and swatched it - I still am kind of in disbelief. The colors are SO saturated, SO smooth, SO easy to work with. I'm going to tell everyone I know about it :D

Great palette, great value for the range of colors

This set of watercolor paints was excellent quality, especially for the price. A ("student quality") sub-brand of Paul Rubens, I was blown away by the creaminess of the paints. Even the metallic/pearl colors were great to work with. They blend well and flow better than some of the palettes I've tried from art "influencers" on social media. I was not optimistic when I first opened the package as the paints looked plasticky and they aren't all identical. Some looked like they'd never mix a usable color, some fills were convex, some concave, and the labels around each individual pan were inconsistent with some fully enveloped and some 3/4 stickered. The actual container for the pans is low quality as it's individual indentations in thin plastic for each pan. They also did not all fit snugly and, when the tin was shifted, several fell out and I had to reorganize them. But fear not! The paints themselves seem excellent with multiple tests. After unpacking each pan and resetting them into the provided swatch page order (made so much more sense to me), I used double sided tape to secure each one inside the mold. (I also labeled each pan with its pigment number in permanent marker after seeing them dislodge early on.)
