you can put food in these for eating I myself mostly use it for cooking in my microwave put a little notch in the top of the bowl edge so they plate you put on top doesn't create a vacuum in the microwave and it basically confines the mess to one little bitty spot you can cook an egg with a broken yolk in 30 seconds and 1,000 watt microwave,,,, at 50 cents a piece you can experiment with these plastic dishes and make them do what you need

I bought purple for granddaughters and blue for grandsons with matching plates. They love having their own plate, bowl, cup, spoons and forks! They are under age 7. They think they are special because they have their own!! They are great in dishwasher so I have them empty and then load... prepping them for when school starts! I found out the hard way if they sometimes have paper plates to throw away, they don't understand the difference and throw everything away!
