Boomer is the ferocious Zoomer Dino that only you can tame with real dinosaur movements, sounds, and dino sense responsiveness. Boomer can detect when you're interacting with him because you use your hands or the included controller to put him on attack or to tame his Dino nature. Now, from the unboxing: The dino comes very well packaged, the box protects him very well, and you should be careful when unpacking it, because the box is so nice that you wouldn't want to throw it away but use it as an storage again for your new dino. Once unboxed, you will need 3AAA batteries (not included) for the remote controller, so be prepared so your kid(s) can start playing with it a bit once you unpack it. For his birthday, he had received a remote control car, which didn't run very well on our carpeted floors. Surprisingly, this little dinosaur glides effortlessly across carpet. It really does balance on two wheels quite well. For the most part, it is able to stand back up on it's own, and it very rarely topples over on it's back. The age on the box reads "5+", but my son is only three years old, and he loves this. My son is a bit difficult to buy for since he doesn't like the simple "baby" toys and wants anything with buttons, plugs, moving parts, etc, and finding something that meets his criteria and is safe for a toddler can be difficult. It helps him in getting around the room a lot better than a bigger toy would. Most importantly - you MUST read the instructions that come with him to make him respond to you and you MUST charge him on the power cord that comes with him overnight for the best results - it does not take batteries! He charges with a USB cord that attaches to your computer. He does come charged right out the box but it did not last very long as we tried to learn how to get him started. If you plan on purchasing this toy I would definitely suggest look into getting a USB wall charger. We just used the one...

She plays with him just about everyday till she goes to bed for the evening. He has an attitude when you tug his tail or can't go certain places. And my daughter thinks it's the funniest thing. He can be operated by a remote or free play. He responds to a sensor hand control and demands like, "sit". His eyes turn different colors and the instructions were very easy to read. We didn't really read them before we set him free from the box. He will give you a lot of time to play but then needs a "nap" while plugged into out USB charger. It only gets better with time, it's as if learns over time. He burbs facts and laughs which my son's and husband finds hilarious! He will dance and acts as if he wants you to pet him. My 5 year old is so in love with him and we just leave him running around until he dies and needs to recharge.. A charge last about 45 min to an hr but only take like 20 min to recharge. Some of the sounds I believe I heard were burping, breathing, and other playful sounds. Zoomer Dino's full body motions are very smooth, not too robotic. It's great that Dino is able to run smoothly across both hard wood floors and short carpet, which allows you to play with it on a variety of surfaces. I was actually very shocked at how well it rolls around on my short carpet. Zoomer Dino does have a little trouble with getting out of a sticky situation on its own. My toddler was interested in picking it up by the neck. All the adults tried in vain to operate the toy and found it almost impossible to maneuver with the remote control. I think this would be appropriate for an older child (10+) who has a lot of patience and is *very* interested in either dinosaurs or remote control objects. Otherwise, we didn't find it to be very entertaining or fun.

Comes with a USB cable to attach the dinosaur to a USB port for charging (which you'll need to do before using), a remote control (requires 3 AAA batteries, not included), and instructions. Took us about 15 minutes to charge him up initially before we could play with him. Personally, I found the remote a little tricky to master, but my video-game obsessed son and husband had less difficulty. It's pretty impressive how quick and intuitive Zoomer is and how it balances on the wheels of the back legs, my son loved hitting the "angry" button to make him spin and his eyes glow red. Zoomer arrived today, and I unpacked him and charged him, and played with him until he needed another charge. He is very entertaining. His learning capabilities became evident rather quickly, he went from getting constantly stuck under things, to learning to avoid them. The instructions are a little vague what you can teach him, but doing a web search gave me some clues to what he could do. Apparently he can be taught a lot of things, if you have the patience to teach him. I can see a younger child laughing his/her head off at Zoomer's antics, because I was. I look forward to seeing just how much this little toy can learn. Too cool. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Pros: Fun, Interactive, easy to understand, burps and farts, lets you "pet it", love the colorful eyes that mean different things. The kids really loved it, and so did grandpa and I. Grandma didn't like the farting part. Cons: Battery died after 40 min's then you have to wait 10 min's to cool down before you can recharge him, which took an hour. The remote is awkward to hold and push the run button and use joystick at same time. I did get this fun dino as a Bzzagent campaign with Spin toys.

After reading the instructions, which was easy to understand, we were all amazed how smart it was. We enjoyed making commands and Dino responding to it. When Dino got mad my daughter got scared and ran away including our barking dog running behind her. Ummm, my daughter is 15 yrs old. LOL. We had a lot of fun discovering and being entertained by Dino! FYI. Mini USB adapter not provided but definitely recommend this product! Oh, and p.s. I think my husband liked it most. Put him in a good mood! Lol!

It takes over an hour to charge for a short amount of playing time. While a few of the tricks are funny, I don't know that overall the price is worth it.

Once we got the right number of batteries in the remote (look closely) the toy responded well. What is most interesting is how the toys seems to have a mind of its own, when it gets angry, how it exhibits agitation, the changes in colour of its eyes etc The balancing technology is fascinating - and the price points too good to be true for a toy of this quality. SpinMaster is a company of which all Canadians should be proud - I also bought the Flutterby Fairies of theirs and great results also.

The true balance technology is really cool - I actually have had some fun with it as well! The best part of this toy is that it is really easy to use out of the box without having to deal with complicated instructions or pieces. I would highly recommend this toy for anyone looking for something not run of the mill that you see everywhere! Would be a great gift!
