i recommend this to anyone having to make their own ice. It's so easy to use, and one slight twist will unlock all the cubes, and I've not had to use the spikes. the only challenge I've experienced is that the trays in the middle are challenged to freeze well during a 24-hour period, and I had to separate them before fully freezing. Otherwise, I'm super impressed.
