Nice but inconsistent sizing in colors.

I'm a small woman and I got the tan color in size 16 on vacation and they were great. So a couple days ago I ordered the same size in black to be delivered. I just tried them on and they are huge. Totally inconsistent sizing. I don't understand except sometimes one color is made in a different country. So I would suggest going to the store and trying these on if that's possible. Now I have to go to the store and see if maybe the black size 14 is equivalent to the tan size 16? Who knows?
