Moth balls deter mice!
I read that mice as well as moths don't like the smell of moth balls, so I got these and placed the good-sized perforated pouches in areas where I want mice to stay out. It works!! Have to be mindful that placing these on any type of food, cloth, etc. will transfer the smell to those items.
