This planter has worked out really well. It definitely is a space saver and I am using it to grow herbs and lettuce during the winter. (I live in Iowa) However, if you have small children or curious cats, I wouldn't recommend it. It is stable enough on its on, but each level is just resting on the other, so a cat jumping on the side and holding on would make quite a mess.
