The skirt looks identical to the photo. I was concerned the skirt might be too big, though, because of the elastic waist. I wear a size 4 in pants, so I purchased a size Small. The waist ended up being a perfect fit. And the elastic helps to make the skirt flexible in case of any fluctuation in weight. The fabric of the skirt is very comfortable. It's not transparent, thank goodness! There's a lining under the skirt that acts like a slip to prevent that possibility. The fabric is thick enough to provide some warmth in the winter but it's not so thick that the skirt would be uncomfortable to wear in the summer.
