Good Quality

I’ve heard so much about collagen that I recently started using it. When the Spark Reviewer Program offered the BioOptimal Collagen Powder (Hydrolyzed Collagen Peptides, Grass Fed, Non-GMO), I jumped at the chance. This brand of collagen is much purer and higher quality than what I’ve been using, so I’m excited to try it. The serving size is one small scoop (enclosed) dissolved in 8 oz. of either hot or cold non-carbonated liquid once a day. I first tried it in hot green tea. Not impressed. There was a very mild collagen taste. Then I tried orange juice. If it weren’t for the fact that it didn’t dissolve thoroughly and leave little lumps, I wouldn’t even have known it was there. No taste. Hot coffee was the same. I think it works best in liquids with stronger flavors. This would be great in smoothies. The canister has 45 servings in it.

BioOptimal Collagen Capsules

The BioOptimal Collagen Capsules contain hydrolyzed collagen peptides that help nourish skin, hair, nails, muscles and joints. These particular collagen capsules are superior for their origins, being that they are 100 % natural, originating from grass-fed and pasture-raised animals. They have no artificial flavors, preservatives, GMO or sweeteners. The bottle gives a clear-cut breakdown of the percentages of close to 20 amino acids contained in the capsules. There are 180 capsules with a recommended dosage of 3 per day, basically a two-month supply, with a 90-day guarantee. I personally like ingesting these pills versus using a powdered version of collagen that, at least in my experience, has an unpleasant taste even when trying to disguise it with various foods. Collagen has been noted to be a great “superfood” supplement that helps with anti-aging concerns. Being a senior citizen, I have experienced stronger nails, skin and improved mobility by using the collagen supplements on a daily basis.
