Replacement of pressure guard every two years?

Having the pressure gauge installed is great but needed to replace it again in a two year period is concerning about the part in general.

Works perfect

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Kohler designed the product perfectly and installed with ease. I'm so happy we choose Kohler for all of our plumbing products in the entire house. I'm sure the only reason the part failed was due to not using the shower for nearly 8 years after being put in and hard water caused the part to not function properly.

Poor reliability; easy to replace

The reviews are true. I am on my third of these units in 9 months due to repeat failures (shower head leaking). Upon examining the second failed unit, I noticed that one of the o-rings had cracked. Perhaps plumbers grease would help prevent this, but no grease was included and it is not mentioned in the instructions. This unit is an easy DIY fix. Just make sure you keep tightening all 4 screws until they are all firmly tightened. This was a nuance I had to figure out myself. To their credit, Kohler stood behind this product and sent me a replacement. I hope they will fix the design flaws here with an updated model, because I can see the poor reliability causing them to lose sales. I hope my current unit lasgs more than a few months.
