just as shown in advertisement and a decent quality mailbox with a locking mechanism-- if you need to do that. the lock comes in a separate plastic bag and is simple to attach [with no tools required] on a 2nd lid-- inside -- the outside cover lid on the box. would be best in a protected from the weather location [ on a covered porch] as heavy rain may allow mail to get wet. it was easy to install [with your own screws and tools] and i had it up in less than 10 minutes. i chose the box to move my mail delivery from the street curb to right beside my front door for convenience and safety-- [ postal rules make this possible with Dr. prescription and postmaster intervention in selected cases-- ask!!] the included lock is optional to installl-- leave it off or attach and lock as needed. there is still a narrow slot to allow letter size mail to be dropped into the inside lockable area of the box. magazines may fit inside only if the box is left UN-locked.
