great basic calculator

good size screen. don't need eyeglasses to read it. it does all the basic functions that one would use 90% of the time. good value for less than 10 bucks.

Excellent hand held basic calculator

I hold my calculator in my hand when I use it, and this is a good fit. And, it uses commas, instead of astericks, to separate numbers, and that is just a pet peeve of mine. I have previously owned/used TI 1795+, and liked it for the same reasons. I do find the cover to be unnecessary, but that's easy to dispose of. :)

Great Little Calculator

This little calculator is just what I was looking for. After years of good service, my older TI 1706 finally gave out. What I like best about Texas Instruments is that they use commas after numbers rather than apostrophes. As mentioned in my other review about the mini desktop model, just pick up a Casio brand and see for yourself. It's not a big thing, but it's just not right and irks me. The TI-1706sv is big enough to see and push buttons with ease, but if you have a small purse, you might not want to carry this one. I like the basic features and ease of use, however, I'm not as crazy about the new design, just because it seems like they wanted to make it look more modern or ergo or whatever, and when I find something I like, it suits me to keep it that way. The plastic protective cover seems a little more cheesy, too. The buttons have a concave surface that helps keep your finger from slipping off and hitting another key which is helpful, but what I'd really like to see is rubberized keys, however, I'm sure it would increase the price of the calculator. Bottom line: A good basic calculator at a good price.
