I was pleasantly surprised by this bread. It has a great texture and flavor, and it's one of the few store-bought breads that actually comes close to the taste of real, traditional bread. You can really feel the authenticity in every bite. Highly recommended if you're looking for something that tastes homemade!

best Greek pita to me

these are the perfect base for my "Mediterranean inspired" pitas. I love the taste of the whole wheat version over the white flour version. they become exceptionally soft when nuked for about 30 seconds. they hold up very well when I make them thusly: Nashville hot hummus on one side, tzaziki on the other. shredded rotisserie chicken down the middle, topped with quarter slices of English cucumber, halved cherry tomatoes, Greek olives and crumbled feta cheese. 2 of these really fill you up, and are approved by my doctor for my diet to protect my heart and help with my drastically elevated, genetic, astronomically high bad cholesterol. so without hesitation, I give these 5 out of 5 stars, every time.

Hearty Whole Wheat Pitas That Actually Hold Up I grabbed these pitas to make lunches for the week, hoping to find a sturdy whole wheat option that wouldn't tear apart when stuffed. These Sam's Choice pitas did the job, with a couple of things I really liked and one thing to watch for. First, the texture is great. They're soft and pliable straight from the bag, not dry or crumbly like some whole grain breads can be. They're about the size of my hand, maybe 6 inches across, and have that perfect pocket inside when you split them open. I filled one with a hefty chicken salad mix and it held together without any leaks or rips, which was exactly what I needed. The taste is a solid, nutty whole wheat flavor. It's not bland, and it doesn't have that overly sweet or artificial taste some wheat products have. They toasted up nicely in a pan for a warm lunch, too. My one caution is about the thickness. They are on the thicker, doughier side compared to a traditional white pita. If you're looking for a super thin, delicate wrap, these are more substantial. I personally like that, but it's good to know. I keep them in the freezer and just pull out what I need, and they thaw quickly. I'm hoping they continue to hold up well after freezing and thawing a few times. Overall, these are a reliable, tasty choice for a filling lunch, especially if you need a pita that can handle a serious load of ingredients.

Lost one star because of texture and quality. If you want to fold these, they will likely break. These are not a pocket pita, so keep that in mind. What I used them for today, they are great, and huge! Takes up almost the entire dinner plate! I bake thinly sliced Roma tomatoes with grilled sweet onions, feta and olive oil baked in the oven for 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Spread hummus on the pita and put the tomato mixture on top. It is filling and delicious! These pitas could easily work as a pizza crust but I wouldn't over load them with toppings as I do not feel that the pita would hold up with the weight, so maybe go light on that. Overall, a decent pita that I will purchase again.

cardboard

Not all whole grain food tastes great. Whole grain pasta doesn't taste the same as white pasta. I think the same is with these pitas. They aren't the same as white ones. They taste like cardboard. In a wrap, it's more obvious, but you can use them as little pizza crusts, and by the time you put toppings on it, the cardboard is disguised. Eating healthy is sometimes not as delicious as the less healthy stuff.

BIOENGINEERED food ingredients

Product contains bioengineered ingredients. I have not eaten it, have no intentions NOW to do so. Bioengineered ingredients label is not shown, to my recollection, innany product images or label recreations provided to the customer. If you are a customer who walks the isles you have the opportunity to thoroughly check the packaging. If you are an online/app shopper the the jokes on you/us. Rule of thumb now with Great Value, or Sam's Choice, brands is if the packaging is not thoroughly imaged then just assume it contains bioengineered ingredients, putside of the Organic products. I have noticed some sketch labeling and product images not being thorough. Some of Walmart's canned products are labeled “BPA non-intent”, it's not their intention if it contains BPAs but if it does, well, it wasn't intentional. GV Cashews are bioengineered too. For years I have taken time to read labels and packaging. Unintentionally, intentionally, not informing online/app users about the truths of products being sold is low and greedy. Just my opinion of course.

Moldy pitas! Don't buy

I pick up my order from Walmart in scotia Glenville NY. I picked up order yesterday. I just took out the Greek style pitas and they were all MOLDY! Disgusting green and white!! The date also said 7/6 which was 2 weeks ago! Their shoppers really should check the dates before distributing to customers who are unaware!

6 days past exoiration date!

This was an online order. Once again the Raynham, Massachusetts Super Center store sent me an expired/spoiled item. The bread's "best if used by" date is 6 days ago. I have received so many expired and rotten items that I have generally stopped ordering produce and fresh items like bread. I have reached out to the general customer service and store alike to no avail. they just dump their rotten/expired stuff on customers routinely. Shame on this store! (Today is September 11, 2025, the bread's date is "09/05/25"!)

Received qty 2 with 1 day left before expire

I received this item that had literally one day left before expiration, qty 2, so I contacted customer service and was supposed to get a refund. Never got a refund. I refuse to waste more of my time contacting a service center who simply can't provide results, it's a waste of my time. Very disappointed with Walmart.
