I am always skeptical when buying a new cleaning product. I usually find that I am disappointed and rarely use the product after the first few times. I hate cleaning, and have hardwood throughout my house with linoleum in my kitchen (for now). When I cleaned the floors before, it was a 4 hour process (at least) for just the kitchen and living room areas. I would sweep, vacuum, mop, steam mop, and then vacuum again. The first time I used this on the hardwood, I took it very slow making sure to scrub every inch carefully. I was instantly amazed about how well it cleaned everything and how dirty my floors were after all that work a few days before. The next day, I repeated the process, but used it less meticulously. Disappointing

I just received my hoover and washed one floor and it already stopped working!!!! I read the book and did all the troubleshooting and it wont even turn on. I had to wait two weeks to get it and now i cant even use it. I am very disappointed. I have no choice but to get a refund. And ponder whether to reorder.

    Meets Expectations

    This item does not do as advertised. It is to scrub the floor and clean up the mess afterwards. It does not scrub like it shows on the advertisement. For the amount of money paid for this item it is not at all what it leads up to be. I am very disappointed in this item.

    Did a pretty good job

    The reason I didn't give five stars is because it seems that the bristles were too soft to really scrub the dirt from my vinyl floor but in Hoover's defense, my floor was really dirty! I just thought it would magically lift all the dirt from the floor. My husband ended up scrubbing on hands & knees and floor looks great now. I think if I use the floor mate on a regular basis that the floor will ultimately stay cleaner. My husband wanted to return the machine but I am hanging onto it in the hopes that if I maintain a regular schdule, I can keep my floors clean.

    Not worth it!

    I wanted a way to clean my tile floors without mop and bucket. Thought this would be the answer. Looked promising. The unit went together OK, but the container to hold the warm water leaked and water would not come out the dispenser to the floor. Got my money back and will search for something better. :(

    Hard floor scrub cleaner

    Well it is a bit complicated. I do believe it is a wonderful machine and it did clean my floor great. But...I do believe we had a malfunctioning scrubber. We did have to return it. When it did work it was GREAT. But it kept turning off and then all by itself it would turn on. Maybe it was haunted? Like I said when it was on I was great. On another point I had no problem returning it to Walmart. That In itself was wonderful. And because the scrubber did clean so well I ended up upgrading to a carpet and hard wood floor cleaner and I love it also. Maybe even better. So in the end it all turned out for the best. Sooo Thank You.

    Great floor cleaner!

    The only way to have a REALLY clean floor.

    This is my second FloorMate. I bought my first one about 10 years ago, and over the years I wore it out. I would not have any other cleaner for tile, laminate and hard wood floors.

    THis product worked only the first time,

    This seemed like it was going to be the answer to my kitchen flooring problems until I get hardwood. but it only worked once. THe sticker on the unit says to NOT take back to store to call the 1-800-# SOOOOOO we'll see.

    Didn't do what it said!

    I bought this vacuum because I wanted something that would do all three things, sweep mop and dry.... This thing is a horrible vacuum and just moves water around without drying or scrubbing. I was extremely disappointed and will just stick with my standard mop!

    Excellent Job cleaning the wood floors!!!

    I bought this after a frustrating search to find something to clean our hardwood floors. This is by far the best. It vaccuums and then cleans the floor. It is time consuming but it is worth it. It does have a dry function but it seamed to leave the floor streaking so I stopped using this functions and the floors look great. It is amazing how dirty the water is when done. I am so glad I purchased this.

    One of my favorite cleaning tools

    Have purchased several of the Floormates and I really can't do without having one now. A mop is too much for my artificial hip, the disposable type floor mops are too fragile. I keep my Floormate out and at the ready. From small spills to just plain keeping the floors immaculate nothing beats a Hoover Floormate. Walmart used to carry them in-store however when I wanted to replace my old one they were nowhere to be found at the local store, so I ordered online and it was at the store in 3 days.

    Great for everyday cleaning

    This floor cleaner is great for my hardwood floors. Lightweight & simple to use. Cleaning it is easy, too. Compact, so storing it is not a problem. Did only a fair job on heavy duty cleaning [post hurricane mess], but then, it is not marketed as a heavy detail machine.

    AWFUL!!!

    First off, this was sent out in it's original box, without any protection. The box looked as though it had been through a war zone! I checked to make sure all items were in the box and they were. Put the FloorMate together and used it. There are too many procedures you need to go through to get the floor cleaned. You set the knob to vacuum first, then reset the dial to scrub, reset the dial to squeege, turn off machine to open tank to throw out the water and start all over again. This might be great for an empty house without furniture, but the results on my tile was not so good. It much prefer my old tired, large steam canister, as it holds enough water to clean the whole house on one tank of water. It also steams and feel my house is clea...

    It does what it claims it will

    I bought this to make my cleaning chores easier and it did just that. No need to broom and then mop. The Floormate has a dry vacuum function as well. No more pushing dirty water around when you mop the floor. The Floormate pulls it up and away. The solution that is recommended is good, but I use one ounce of Mr Clean with Fabreeze and I have had no problems with the Floormate. My floors have never looked better. I have oak floors and vinyl and laminate, it works great on all of them.

    I am happy that I no longer have to drag around a mop, bucket, broom and dustpan. I love how it switches over so easily from vacuum to mop to dry. It works very well in most spaces. For a few spots, for example around commodes, you will still have to use a mop or something because it is too wide to fit. The very most important thing is that I am not spreading dirty water from room to room like I did before with a regular mop. It puts down clean water and sucks up dirty water. I have only used it a couple of times so far, but I am a very satisfied customer. The Wal-Mart website sells it much cheaper than Hoover does.

    I used if for the first time over the weekend and I loved it. Unfortunately, it quit running after about an hours use. As of today, I have been unable to talk to anyone from Hoover. I think it is an issue with the switch. I would recommend it as long as it runs.

    Good tile floor cleaner

    Great tile floor cleaner! I typically have low back pain after washing the floor with a standand mop. After using the Hoover Floor mate I did not have back pain...thank you. Nice long electrical cord, brushes scrubbed the tile well. I wish the clean tank was larger, had to refill it several times. It dried the floor very quickly. All in all a good product.
